On the 5th and 6th of August the RSGB Centenary call sign will be with NARC at the QTH of G0DWV. As you are probably aware the callsign has been making its way around the country to clubs in all regions and is now very sort after around the world on all bands and modes, with many people chasing the coveted  RSGB Centenary award, see here for more info  http://rsgb.org/main/operating/amateur-radio-awards/rsgb-centenary-award-2013/

The Stations will be setup in a caravan and MAC in the garden with at least 2 / 3 radios with the intention of operating HF, 6m and 2m all at the same time, if Ops are available. If you have never had a chance to use a beam antenna at 20-25m above ground or big antenna on the low bands this will be a very exciting experience for you.  You will have access to the full antenna system on site, these include 160m vertical + dipole, 80m 4 square + dipole, rotary dipole for 40m, 30m Sloper , rotary beams all HF bands,  3ele beam on 20m, 3ele on 17m, 4ele on 15m, 4ele on 12m, 7ele on 10m, 7ele on 6m and 11ele on 2m plus a high vertical for 2 /70 FM.. There will also be amplifiers available for a little more oomph if needed!

We have the G100RSGB call for 48 hours, so if you want to try the low bands in the middle of the night or operate sporadic E on 10m 6m and 2m during the day, the station is available. We are sure to have some good pile ups, but you the operator will be in control, so if you want to rag chew you can, or run contest style contacts you can. Main modes will be SSB or CW (bring your own Key) but we will also have RTTY and PSK available too, which I think haven’t been used too much so far .... It is hoped that we can operate for most of the time.... but that’s up to you to come and help. If you need help that will be on hand and a great insight into what is achievable, even in the current period of less than favorable propagation.

One thing, bring insect repellent, the little buggies bite here!!
